MediaHub
MediaHub for Content Editors
Managing images in a CMS usually means uploading the same file over and over, losing track of which version is the right one, and hoping the developer set up the image sizes correctly. MediaHub gives you a proper library to work from instead — one place where all your assets live, with search, collections, and a picker that brings everything to you wherever you're editing.
How it changes your day-to-day
Instead of attaching images to individual pages separately, you upload to the library once and pick from it everywhere. The library is searchable and filterable, so finding what you need takes seconds rather than scrolling through a page tree.
We think you'll like…
-
›
Upload once, use anywhere — a photo you upload today is available on every page that has a MediaHub field, without uploading it again.
-
›
A searchable, filterable library — search by name, filter by label or collection, and switch between grid, masonry, or table view depending on what you're looking for.
-
›
A clean picker inside the page editor — the MediaHub picker opens as a fullscreen overlay. Browse, search, and select without leaving the page you're editing.
-
›
Folders and collections — organise assets into folders that make sense for your team. Products, events, blog, campaigns — whatever structure matches how you work.
-
›
Crop presets defined by your developer — crops are already set up for the sizes your site needs. You pick the image; the cropping is handled.
-
›
Per-page descriptions — if the same image needs a different caption on different pages, you can write one without changing the original asset.
-
›
Usage tracking — before you delete something, you can see exactly which pages it's being used on. No accidental broken images.
-
›
Non-image files too — PDFs, documents, audio, and video all live in the same library alongside your images. One place for everything.
-
›
Drag and drop uploading — drag files straight into the upload area in batches. No fiddly one-at-a-time uploading.
-
›
Rich text integration — if you're editing content in a text editor, you can insert images from MediaHub directly into your text without switching to a separate screen.
Tips for content editors
Things that tend to make a real difference once you know about them.
Assign assets to a collection during upload
When you upload a batch of files, you can assign them to a collection before the upload starts. If you're uploading a set of images for a specific campaign or section of the site, doing this upfront saves having to sort them into the right place afterwards. Look for the collection selector in the upload area.
Check the asset detail page before you change anything
Every asset in MediaHub has a detail page that shows you a list of every page on the site that references it. Before you replace or rename an image, it's worth checking this so you know exactly what's going to be affected. Click on any asset in the library to get there.
Per-page descriptions let the same image have different captions in different places
Once you've selected an asset into a page field, click on it in the page editor to open a metadata panel. You can write a description that only applies to that specific use of the image. The same team photo can say "Our London office" on the About page and "Where the team is based" on the Contact page, without uploading it twice.
Use table view when you know what you're looking for
The library has three views: grid, masonry, and table. Table view shows filenames, types, and dates in a scannable list rather than as thumbnails. If you're looking for a specific file and know its name, table view is usually faster than browsing through images.
Use labels to flag assets that need attention
If your organisation uses labels like Needs replacing or For review, you can filter the library by those labels to see everything that's flagged. It's a handy way to keep track of assets that need updating without losing them in the library.
The search supports partial matches
You don't need an exact filename to find something. Typing product will surface any asset with that in the name. Combine it with a label or collection filter to narrow things down quickly in a large library.
